Jusangjeolli Cliffs

주상절리대

Jungmun, Jeju · 제주

A cliff of vertical hexagonal basalt formed as lava from Hallasan met the sea and cooled, running for over a kilometre along the Jungmun coast.

Why it’s worth it

The columns are as regular as masonry and the swell breaks against them constantly. Best on a rough day, when the spray comes right up the viewing deck.
