Osaka Aquarium Kaiyūkan

海遊館

Tempozan, Osaka · 大阪

One of the largest aquariums in the world, arranged as a single descending spiral around a nine-metre-deep Pacific tank holding whale sharks and manta rays.

Why it’s worth it

The route means you meet the same tank at six different depths, which no other aquarium does. Go late — the last two hours are much quieter.
