Rikugien Garden
六義園
Komagome, Tokyo · 東京
An Edo stroll garden laid out to reproduce eighty-eight scenes from classical waka poetry, arranged around a central pond and a small artificial hill.
Why it’s worth it
Late November it is the best autumn colour inside the Yamanote line, lit after dark. The weeping cherry at the entrance in late March is worth a trip on its own.
