箱根神社 平和の鳥居

Motohakone, Hakone · 箱根

The Torii of Peace, built in 1952 on the shore of Lake Ashi below Hakone Shrine, standing in the water with the forest behind it.

Why it’s worth it

There is an official, orderly queue for the photograph and it can run an hour at weekends. Come before eight and there is nobody there at all.
