Lake Ashi

芦ノ湖

Motohakone, Hakone · 箱根

A caldera lake formed by an eruption three thousand years ago, crossed by sightseeing boats between Togendai and Motohakone, with Fuji visible over the north shore on clear days.

Why it’s worth it

The Fuji view only appears in clear, dry air — best odds are early morning between November and February. The boats run whatever the weather.
