A preserved Joseon-era village on the inland plain, with basalt walls, rope-tied thatch and the wind-adapted layout Jeju houses used, still occupied by residents.
Why it’s worth it
It is a living village, not a reconstruction. Guides are free at the gate and worth taking — the stone-wall and gate-pole customs need explaining.
