Seongsan Ilchulbong

성산일출봉

Seongsan, Jeju · 제주

A 182-metre volcanic crater formed by an underwater eruption five thousand years ago, joined to the island by a narrow neck and climbed by a stepped path in twenty minutes.

Why it’s worth it

It is called Sunrise Peak and it earns the name — the summit opens an hour before dawn. The crater rim from the top is a near-perfect bowl of grass.
